I would like to congratulate Ms Davis on her appointment as Assistant Deputy Principal of the school and wish her all the best in his new role.
We are really looking forward to the carol singing in Supervalu tomorrow and for the carol service tomorrow evening.
I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2017.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Pádraig Ó Gealbháin

FAI Futsal Competition
Congratulations to the boys from 4th class who were crowned Offaly Futsal Champions for the 2nd year in a row. A great achievement by a very talented group of footballers.

Uniforms                                                                                                                                                                                                If you have uniforms at home in good condition but too small for your child please donate them to the school. If you need a uniform for your child please contact the school.

Facebook                                                                                                                                                                                                Our school facebook account is now set up. Like our page St. Patrick’s BNS Portarlington for regular school updates and events.

Social Networks                                                                                                                                                                        We ask all parents to respect the confidentiality and privacy of our school community. We ask all parents to refrain from making any reference to our school, teacher, pupils or other parents on social media. Mr Galvin and the staff are always available to discuss any concerns you may have in relation to your son at short notice. We strongly encourage this mutual respect.

Lotto                                                                                                                                                                                                        We would like to thank everyone that signed up to the school lotto in the 1st term. It was our 1st time to use the online payment system for our lotto and it proved to be a great success. Term 2 epayments are open until the end of January. All funds raised will go to supplement play and sport facilities in our new school.

Shoebox Appeal
The boys from 2nd class participated in the Annual Shoebox Appeal. Well done to the classes and their families for their continued support.
St Vincent de Paul                                                                                                                                                                         Lots of classes in the school participated in the reverse advent calendar food appeal for St Vincent de Paul. This is a lovely idea, whereby instead of the children getting a treat when they open the calendar door, it actually tells the child what food product to bring in to create a class hamper. The hampers where then donated to St Vincent de Paul and families in need will receive these lovely gifts in time for Christmas. The message is we receive by giving. Thank you to all parents and families for their support in this appeal. Check out the photos of the hampers on our new facebook page.
Christmas Jumper Day
All boys were asked to wear their Christmas jumper on Friday 22nd Dec. We would to thank everyone for the donations of €1 per student for The Transitional Care Unit in Crumlin. It was a great success.
