Junior Assembly Performance

Ms. Ryan’s Senior Infant Class recited a lovely poem about a flower. This theme was chosen to celebrate the beautiful daffodils, tulips and crocuses that are blossoming around our school at the moment.

Senior Assembly Presentation

Ms. Sullivan’s 4th  celebrated the UN World Water Day by making a very informative presentation and Q&A session about the world’s water supply. Their presentation emphasized just how precious a resource that water and how it is essential for all life on earth to exist .  Click here to learn more about UN World Water Day.

Cillin Hoey - National Athletics Champion

Last weekend Cillin Hoey, 6B competed in the All Ireland Under 14 Indoor 90m Hurdle final in Athlone. Cillin won his race while achieving a personal best time and also matching the national best time. Well Done Cillin and we wish you continuing success on the track in the future. Good News Stories

We are always on the lookout for boys that show care and concerns for their fellow students and the staff, who step up to the mark by being helpful in class and in the yard and who work hard in school. Every week boys are selected that have displayed these qualities in a particular way.

The parents of these boys receive a phone call from Mr. Terry or Mr. Galvin to let them know that their son has earned this special award. The boys also receive a homework pass and a small prize.

Music News

Mr. Galvin is recruiting boys to join the school band. To help encourage the boys to get involved in music, we had performances from some of our musicians.

Mr. McKeon’s choir are rehearsing for the upcoming Confirmation Ceremonies and any boys that would like to join the choir to sing or play an instrument are welcome.

Other News

 Football – Cumann na mBunscol is back. We have a great team this year and the boys are training hard. Mr Galvin is coaching the new B Specials team and they will be playing their first match this week against Rathangan. All results will be posted on our website and Facebook page.

Mile Run – Now that the weather is good, the boys are on the track every day for their daily Mile Run. Mr. Terry encouraged all the boys to get work at getting their fitness levels up. The goal is to jog/run continuously for 10 minutes.

GAA Coaching – We have a GAA coach coming to the school, he will be taking all the boys from 1st to 6th class for training sessions next week.

After School Activities – Its great to have our Chess and Badminton Clubs running after school again. The boys are enjoying learning these new sports. We encourage all the boys to get involved in all our extra curricular activities.
